OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Good Shepherd United Methodist Church is a fellowship of believers in Christ, called to be servants, who worship God, love others, and reach out to the community and the world.

What do we believe?

1. Jesus Christ loves you. No exceptions.

2. Christ wants to make a difference in our lives. He wants to root the mess out of your life and give you hope and healing, freedom and self-control, patience and peace.

3. Christ unites us as his (healthy) family. He binds us together and helps us care for each other. "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God." (1 John 4:7)

4. Christ wants to make a difference in this world. He’ll use us to give practical help, comfort, support, and challenge to others.

5. We can come close to God. That’s why we worship, pray, talk with each other about faith, read Scripture, fast, receive communion. These are the means that help us draw near to God.

6. God makes all of this possible. Christ’s forgiveness opens the door so the power of God can work in our lives. "This is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the remedy for our sins." (1 John 4:10)
